Features Revealed
The new Element System
Starting from Level 20 you will get Elements Points each level which can be assigned to the element of your choice.
- 2 pts each level from 20~39
- 3 pts each level from 40~49
- 4 pts each level from 50~59
- 5 pts each level from 60~85
This is a total of 240 points.
You can assign a maximum of 100 points per element. Each of these points represent 5 element damage and resistance of the particular element if you have a a damage/resistance rate of 100%. Each player starts with a base damage and resistance rate of 50%. The rates can be increased with elemental gear (accessory, weapon, armor), the element booster items and from the socket cards.
The stats can be shown as "Element Rate Points" like "Fire Element Damage Rate +1" where each "point" represents additional 5% or it is shown in an absolute percentage value like "Fire Element Resistance Rate +5.0%". This way you can increase the damage and resistance of the particular element over 100%.
Against PvE monsters a multiplier is used to strengthen the elemental damage effect. This multiplier starts with 5.0 for a Level 20 char and ends up with 2.4 for a Level 85 char. The multiplier decreases due to the increased base damage/resistance due to the assignment of the points.
To assign the points a new button has been added similar to the "new stats" button you are used to from level 60+:
The points can be assigned to the element of your choice:
Also the character info sheet has been reword to give you as much informations as possible about the elements and it's calculation:
You will get one free Element Point Reset Scroll for all four element points at the Gato NPC when the char is Level 20+.
Element Point Reset Scrolls are available in the IM, seperately for each element or as one scroll for all four.
New Socket System
The sockets have been renamed from 1th and 2th socket to Stat Socket and Element Socket for easier understanding.
Galaxia Skill cards stayed untouched for this update and are still upgraded and used in the known manner.
Socket creation can be also done at the Blacksmith NPC. Both sockets can be created separately, means an equip part can have a Stat Socket or an Element Socket only, or both of them.
As mentioned before, cards have been replaced, also the old system with the grades and stars are gone.
Instead of this a new socket card grade system will be introduced. Every card is available with a certain card level in three grades: Normal, Advanced, Special.
Stat Socket Cards are available in the following card levels and grades (the card level is represented by a star):
1* Normal, Advanced, Special
2* Normal, Advanced, Special
...
8* Normal, Advanced, Special
9* Special
The 9* Special is the highest card which can be obtained in the game after the update.
Cards can only be obtained by getting them through card boxes (more on that later) up to 8* Normal. If you want to have a higher card you have upgrade them at the Blacksmith NPC. Also 8* Normal is the card representing the highest card currently in the game.
8* Normal HLT Card has HLT+36, like the [Lv.8] 10* HLT card had.
All currently socketed cards are replaced by cards which have same or slightly higher stats. Unsocketed cards become useless as already mentioned in the information. Same for Socket Boxes, Socket Hammers, Socket Recovery Powder and the Socket Option Remover Scroll. If you want to socket a new card to an equipment part which already has a card socketed you can just socket it "over", the old card will be destroyed then. Or you can just extract the currently socketed card beforehand. This is also done at the Blacksmith NPC. The position of the cards on the equip stay the same. Exception:
- HP/MP Recovery
- PAtk/MAtk, PDef/MDef cards with absolute values
These cards can be socketed on earrings as well from now on.
Please look at the cards carefully. All cards with percentage values are usable for equip level 20~85. The others do have a level requirement according their card level:
- 1* - Equip Level 20~85
- 2* - Equip Level 20~85
- 3* - Equip Level 30~85
- 4* - Equip Level 40~85
- 5* - Equip Level 50~85
- 6* - Equip Level 60~85
- 7* - Equip Level 70~85
- 8* - Equip Level 80~85
- 9* - Equip Level 80~85
New Element Cards
A similar system as for the Stat Cards has been implemented for the Element Cards. The old system of grades/levels and stars is gone and has been replaced by the same card level/grade system already mentioned for the stat cards.
The card levels and grades available to Element Cards are:
- 1* ~ 4* as Normal, Advanced and Special Grade
- 5* as Special Grade
The highest card has been replaced by a 3* Special Grade card (except for the 5-element card which has been replaced by a 4* Normal). Cards can be obtained through boxes up to 3* Special. If you want a higher card you have to upgrade it at the Blacksmith NPC.
All cards affect the Element Attack or Damage Rate (depends if it's an attack or defense card).
Following card types are available:
Fire, Ice, Nature, Dark, Fire/Ice, Nature/Dark, All Elements
Also the slots where attack/defense cards can be socketed have changed:
Attack: Weapon, Gloves, Shoes, Necklace, Earrings, Belt
Defense: Top, Bottom, Backpack, Shoulders, Head, Shield/Wrist/Kickball
The rings can be used for both - either an attack or a defense card, but not for multiple element cards. Only single element cards can be socketed on rings.
If you have socketed a defense card on a future attack slot it will be converted to an attack card.
All cards can be socketed on Equipment Level 20~85.
Socketing Menu at the Blacksmith NPC
All socketing is now done at the Blacksmith NPC and has been completely removed from the production system.
At every Blacksmith you will now find a menu called "Socketing" which opens a new socketing window:
In this window you will be able to create the sockets, extract socketed cards and upgrade cards.
All of these tasks can be successfully done with in-game items and gold. The available IM items will only increase the success rate (and in case of upgrading protect your materials). Gold is always taken, no matter if an IM item is used or not. A socket card can never break in this menu. The only possibility to break a socket card is still when it's socketed because that process stayed untouched so far.
For socket creation souls and weapon/armor dust is needed (the amount corresponds to the equip level). Also Event Weapon/Armor Dust can be used. If event weapon/armor dust is in your inventory it is used first.
For socket extraction the needed materials depend on the card type (Stat, Element or Galaxia Skill Card). For Stat cards Souls and Weapon/Armor Dust is needed, for Galaxia Skill Cards 3 Star Fragments are needed and for Element Cards Element Blesses are needed. The amount of needed items depends on the equip level. The extraction success rate is 33%. You can use a certain amount of IM Socket Card Extractors to have a chance of 100% success and no further items are needed. The maximum number of extractors needed are 3. Also here: cards can't break.
Card upgrading can be done with the card or on the equipment directly by dragging the card or equipment part into the slot of the socketing window.
If a card which is equipped would not fit on the equip after upgrading due to a level limit (stat cards) the upgrading directly on the equip is not possible. You need to extract it first then. You will also get a warning if you want to upgrade a card which level limit is too high for the equipment your char can wear. Then upgrading has to be confirmed in a message box, but still can be upgraded.
The materials needed for upgrading also depend on the card type:
- Stat Cards:
High Energy Plasma (new item - more about how to obtain that later)
- Element Cards:
Advanced Elements from the Spiritual Drops
- Galaxia Cards
The upgrading process for these cards is still done at Crete
Basic elements are no longer used (because of the massive duping) and can be sold to a Shop NPC.
Obtaining Socket Card Boxes
The new socket card boxes are similar to the old ones. Following socket card boxes are available:
- Stat Socket Card Box (Stat Socket Cards)
- Attack Socket Card Box (Stat Socket Cards)
- Defense Socket Card Box (Stat Socket Cards)
- Recovery Socket Card Box (Stat Socket Cards)
- Special Socket Card Box (Stat Socket Cards)
- Fire Attack Socket Card Box (Element Socket Cards)
- Ice Attack Socket Card Box (Element Socket Cards)
- Nature Attack Socket Card Box (Element Socket Cards)
- Dark Attack Socket Card Box (Element Socket Cards)
- Fire Defense Socket Card Box (Element Socket Cards)
- Ice Defense Socket Card Box (Element Socket Cards)
- Nature Defense Socket Card Box (Element Socket Cards)
- Dark Defense Socket Card Box (Element Socket Cards)
The element card boxes can contain mutli-element cards like Fire/Ice (in the Fire and Ice boxes), Nature/Dark (in the Nature and Dark boxes) or All Element Cards (in all boxes).
The boxes can obtained either in the Galaxia Dungeon end rewards (as it was before), in the Element Dungeons for the particular element or from Gwen by exchange.
The items needed for this exchange are new. They are called:
- Mysterious Fragment (Fire)
- Mysterious Fragment (Ice)
- Mysterious Fragment (Nature)
- Mysterious Fragment (Dark)
These items can be obtained as an additional mission map end reward. Also, to open the boxes you need a key. The following keys are available:
- Bronze Socket Card Chest Key
- Silver Socket Card Chest Key
- Golden Socket Card Chest Key
These can be obtained in the mission maps as an additional end reward too. The higher the level of the mission the higher the chance to get a golden key.
The better key is used with the boxes the higher is the chance to get a higher grade card from it.
Also obtainable as a new mission map end reward is the earlier mentioned High Energy Plasma used to upgrade the socket cards.
The additional items will be given from Rank S~SSS starting with the mission at Bearded Whale Coast.
On the left side of the new mission map end reward window you will get either one of the Mysterious Fragments or High Energy Plasma, on the right side you will get either a key or High Energy Plasma.
The keys, High Energy Plasma and the Mysterious Fragments can not be obtained through IM. They are purely in-game.
The special reward is not available to F6/F7 modes and can't be traded. Account Vault is possible.
High Energy Plasma can also be obtained by killing monsters on the field through the monster kill count reward.
You get High Energy Plasma when killing 400, 600 and 850 monsters.
Buyback Feature
Items which have been sold to a Shop NPC from the Equip and Cons tab of your inventory can be bought back at the same NPC you sold it to within 30 minutes. Most of the items from the Misc tab can't be bought back (there are some exceptions). If items can be bought back or not is stated at the bottom of the tooltip when hovering over an item in your inventory if a shop window is open.
Buying back items cost 50% additional buyback fee (in-game gold).
And the last info ...
Arcadia City
Welcome to Arcadia City... no that's a bit too early... you first have to fulfill the Legend of Arcadia.
Arcadia City comes with 30 Quests (Level Range 65~68) in this first part of Episode 6. After completing all of them you will be the proud owner of 2 new medals and a Hero Sign of Arcadia.
Because of the new socketing system all Hero Signs have been made socketable.
As mentioned already additional content will be released episodic.
Production System
Since the recipes for socketing stuff will be removed the Machinery profession looked a bit empty. We decided to add recipes for 3 new items to it.
With machinery profession you can now produce:
- HP Injections
- MP Injections
- EXP Devices
HP and MP injections work like the food items. They immediately fill your HP/MP with a specific amount depending on the level of the produced item.
EXP Devices give EXP buffs for 30 minutes. Depending on the level between 1.2x and 1.8x. The EXP Devices require a minimum char level to be used: 1.2x Lv. 20+, 1.3x Lv. 30+ etc.
We - the Dragon Saga Team - thank you for your long support over the time the game didn't get any updates, for your loyalty and constructive criticism.
